Lifeguard Certification and Training Requirements

Lifeguard / First Aid / CPR / AED Certification

Lifeguard certification courses are taught by American Red Cross certified instructors. Participants learn to respond to water and land emergencies, to provide first aid care, and the responsibilities of a professional lifeguard. Participants also learn to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants in addition to learning how to properly use an AED on a victim of cardiac arrest. Successful completion of the course results in ARC Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications. All participants must be 15 years of age prior to the completion of the course.
